I'm currently working on a huge lesson on maximizing your harmonic possibilities with the humble PENTATONIC SCALE.
In the run up to that I thought I'd finally post the modes of the PENTATONIC SCALE as stand alone diagrams.
This scale is based on the second position of the MAJOR PENTATONIC or third position of MINOR PENTATONIC. I've seen it referred to by a few names, THE EGYPTIAN PENTATONIC, THE SUSPENDED PENTATONIC or THE NEUTRAL PENTATONIC.
Whatever you decide to call it, all we have here is the second position of major or third position of minor pentatonic being used as a mode.
It contains the intervals: 1,2,4,5,b7.
It'll fit nicely anywhere you might use AEOLIAN, DORIAN or MIXOLYDIAN.
